HYUNDAI-KIA RISE TO 4TH IN GLOBAL CAR SALES TABLE!

Hyundai-Kia is now the fourth largest global vehicle manufacturer according to Automotive News Data Centre. By 8,000 units, the South Korean group overtook Ford whose sales fell by more than 30% in the first half of the year. In 2008 Hyundai-Kia was trailing Ford by around 1m units. A decade ago, when the two main South Korean carmakers were merged, they were 11th in the world's league table. Since then, they have built modern plants in countries including Slovakia, The USA and China.
